The respite was short-lived in Saint-Martin: the sargasses are again present on certain beaches, according to the ARS.
Cul-de-Sac Bay, Orientale North Bay and Lucas Bay are the three priority sectors under surveillance because of the quantity of algae near homes, reports the ARS for week eight. The health authorities noted that the stranding consisted of a mixture of ordinary algae and sargassum. In Saint-Barthélemy, the algae on the beaches are in a state of decomposition or already dry, according to the agency. Anse des Cayes and Marigot are the two sectors under surveillance.
