Sargassum: a short lull

0

Sargassum is back. New strandings in sensitive areas of the territory were noted, according to the health agency (ARS).

The priority sectors in Saint-Martin go back to red (very large quantity of algae near habitats) in the ranking of week 48, according to the latest survey by ARS. This time, "the odors are present although the gas emissions remain below the detection threshold" at Cul-de-Sac Bay, Lucas Bay and North Eastern Bay. In Saint-Barthélemy, there has been a slight decrease in seaweed stranding, but some sectors are still particularly affected, including Anse des Cayes.
