Cancers of the lung, breast and colon-rectum are the main ones developed; they represent 11,2%, 9,2% and 8,6% of cancer deaths in Saint-Martin.
In people under the age of 65, the premature death rate from cancer is 49 deaths per 100 inhabitants, it is 000 in Saint-Barthélemy and Guadeloupe and 57 in mainland France.
Tumors are the second leading cause of premature death in Saint-Martin, and are responsible for almost one in five deaths in people under the age of 65. Beyond this age, they represent 23% of mortality.
