Dominica was hit hard in late August by tropical storm Erika. To cope with the material damage and human losses, which are always difficult to assess, the government of this island has launched an appeal for international aid. In recent days, a vast surge of solidarity has been underway in Saint-Martin, but also in Martinique and Guadeloupe.

The population and businesses of Saint Martin are actively involved in local initiatives in favor of Dominica, including that of the Red Eye Crew, a group of singers known on the island with its own foundation called We can Give by Red Eye Crew and Friends. “Our members volunteer their time to help many causes. In the aftermath of the disaster, we decided to set up collection points, ”says Skelet, one of the organizers, who can count on the support of his various partners including the Red Cross, the Rotaract Saint-Martin Nord and Cadisco. According to him, Dominica needs as a priority dry goods, water bottles, baby diapers, powdered milk, hygiene products and clothing. These products will be shipped by boat every Saturday and also by air. The foundation thanks the population and businesses for their great solidarity. These goods will be sorted by the Sint Maarten Red Cross before being sent to Dominica. The Union for Democracy (UD) has announced that it is joining this initiative, and invites you to drop off your donations at its premises.

Here are several collection points:

- Sint Maarten Red Cross: building located on the way to the airport (airport road # 34). Contact: +1721 5865330-XNUMX;

- All Cadisco gas stations (Sandy Ground, Nettle Bay and Orient Bay Road);

- Union for Democracy - Office 102 - 23 rue du Port, Galisbay (Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 14:30 p.m. to 17 p.m.).
