RUN TO PARIS 2024: A heritage hike with Saint-Martin Extreme Runners

0

As part of the RUN TO PARIS 2024 project, the Saint-Martin Extreme Runners association offered young Usépiens in kindergarten and elementary school a hike on the heritage.

Indeed, 50 children were able to discover, last Friday, important monuments of Saint-Martin's heritage, notably Fort Louis and the old prison.

This educational hike allowed the USEP animators to do a bit of history and geography when reaching the summit of the Fort. Health education was also an objective of this hike by making children and parents aware of the activity of walking. We were very surprised to see that some students, who live in Concordia, were going up to Fort Louis for the first time.

The Associations Saint-Martin Extreme Runners and USEP Iles du Nord have decided to offer other hikes of this type because knowledge of its immediate environment is one of the skills of the new geography programs at school.

All the children were delighted because they completed 150 km for RUN TO PARIS 2024, which must be added to the 351 km achieved by the college students last Wednesday for their cross country. The arrival in Paris is still far away ...

We thank all the parents present for this educational hike, the Saint-Martin Extreme Runners animators and the USEP Iles du Nord animators._AF
