Rugby: The development and promotion of the "oval ball" at the heart of current affairs in the Northern Islands!

Significant progress! Two technical advisers appointed by the French Rugby Federation (FFR) for the Antilles-Guyana, one of whom was recently recruited, came to meet last weekend, the officials of the USEP, the UNSS and the clubs of the Northern Islands. .

As a reminder, the French Rugby Federation has just signed a national agreement in order to develop the practice of this sport in education through support for teachers and interventions in the school environment.

Indeed, the president of the FFR, Bernard Laporte and the vice-president, Henri Mondino, during their trip to Saint-Martin in 2018, had confirmed to local leaders and educators their willingness to support the development of rugby within the Islands from the North with the creation of an additional position, more specifically with the contribution of a technical adviser regularly present both in Saint-Martin and on the sister island of Saint-Barthélemy.

A first meeting which should bear fruit…

After meeting with officials from the USEP and the UNSS, the two technical advisers went to Grand Case to supervise the training of young players from the Saint-Martin Rugby Union. Theoretical training was then organized in the presence of those responsible for the Archiball, Saint-Martin Rugby Union and Barracudas de Saint-Barth rugby schools.

In continuity, the two technical advisers were received on Saturday morning in the “stronghold” of the Archiball in Bellevue with the presence of nearly 90 young players from the three clubs of the North Islands with on the program, practical workshops and support training educators.

With this local and regular technical support, the FFR recognizes (somewhere) all the rugby potential existing with "us".

Is this not good news? _AF
