Health restrictions: Compulsory test to travel between Guadeloupe, Martinique and Guyana

0

In consultation with the director general of ARS Martinique and the general directors of the ARS of Guadeloupe and Guyana, the prefects of Martinique, Guadeloupe and Guyana have decided to strengthen the health security of air travel between Martinique and Guadeloupe and Guyana.

As of Wednesday January 13, 2021, any traveler aged 11 or over, coming from Guyana and going to Martinique or Guadeloupe, must present the negative result of a virological screening test upon boarding, RT -PCR or antigenic, carried out less than 72 hours before the flight.

The already existing test obligation for trips in the other direction, either from Martinique or Guadeloupe to Guyana, will also be checked before boarding from the same date, without the possibility of carrying out the test at the arrival in Cayenne.

This simplification measure, which harmonizes the rules relating to the Covid-19 test, regardless of the direction of travel between the West Indies and Guyana, does not modify the free movement regime in force between Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Travel is prohibited except if it is based on an overriding personal or family reason, an emergency health reason or a professional reason that cannot be postponed. A PCR test dating back less than 72 hours is required from Saint-Martin towards Guadeloupe.  In the absence of this PCR test, travelers can present the result of an antigenic detection test for the SARS-CoV-2 virus carried out less than 48 hours before the flight and not concluding that there is contamination by Covid-19.

On arrival in Guadeloupe, travelers must present to the shipping carrier or the airline, before boarding, one or more supporting documents as well as a sworn statement of the reason for travel.
