While waiting to know if schools will be able to welcome students from May 11 in Saint-Martin, one thing is certain, the reception of children who live on the other side of the border will not be insured.

A final decision on the reopening of schools in Saint-Martin should be taken this Thursday, May 7, in consultation with the State, the Collectivity and local actors in the school world. A complicated decision to make, according to the Prefect, Sylvie Feucher, due to the lack of visibility on what the parents want to do. The latter are contacted by the teachers to know their choice for their children but many do not respond.

According to our information, many parents of pupils from kindergartens, primary, middle and high schools do not intend to take any health risk and therefore put their children back on the school benches.

In short, while waiting to learn more in a few days, the state has decided for the children who live on the other side of the border but who are educated in Saint-Martin. Their reception will not be assured in schools, says Sylvie Feucher.
