President Daniel Gibbs performed  last Monday a visit to schools to wish a good start to the pupils, teachers and staff of the establishments and to make sure that the start of the new school year runs smoothly. He was accompanied by elected officials Mireille Meus and Alex Pierre, and by DASEN Michel Sanz, Head of Education in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. Vice-president Steven Patrick also welcomed students from the Eliane Clark preschool and the Quartier d'Orléans college.

The President first went to Soualiga-Weinum college and Robert Weinum lycée at the Cité Scolaire, where he met students from 6th and BTS (higher education) students. The latter then made a stop at the Elie Gibs Elementary school in Grand-Case, then at the college of Quartier d'Orléans, where he visited the fully reconstructed multipurpose room, then met students from 6th to 3rd.

The president took the time to address the children to discuss with them the reconstruction of schools and the efforts made by the Collectivity to succeed in this delicate stage. “With my vice-president Annick Pétrus, who was unable to join me because she was held back by the start of her school year, we are satisfied with the progress made, even if it was long and difficult. There is still work to be finalized in some establishments until the All Saints holidays, but I can assure you that the Collectivity has worked hard in recent months so that your return to school takes place under the best auspices. The hardest part is behind us and I am counting on you now to give the best of yourselves and make your school year a success! ”, Said Daniel Gibbs.

President Daniel Gibbs, his vice-presidents, elected officials and all the staff of the Collectivity, wish a very good start to the students of Saint-Martin, the teaching staff and the staff of the establishments, without forgetting the students who will soon join the benches of faculties and schools, far from Saint-Martin. Very good start to all!
