Sports Minister Laura Flessel ends her three-day official visit to Guadeloupe and Martinique. The Olympic fencing champion - who arrived last Sunday in the archipelago - notably met Patrice Richard, the director general of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Guadeloupe / North Islands. The minister discovered alongside him the P3S, sports courses to fight against obesity and overweight. "It is a real responsibility to bring sport into society to reduce the rate of obesity, but also to fight against chronic diseases", she declared during her visit to the JT of Guadeloupe 1ère. The Kannari survey, carried out in 2013, shows that overweight remains very high among the populations of Guadeloupe. _EH
