Regulation: New procedure in force for the issuance of driving licenses

0

By deliberation of the Territorial Council dated July 1, 2021, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin has set up a new procedure for archiving driving licenses, in accordance with the regulations in force.

This procedure provides that once the driving license is available, the Community will contact the holder to inform him (call, email or sms). The driving license issued by the Collectivity must be withdrawn within 6 months of being made available. If the title has not been withdrawn within the allotted time, the driver's license will then be stamped (destroyed) to prevent any fraudulent use, then archived definitively.

The title will no longer be held or delivered by the services of the Collectivity. However, a duplicate of the driving license may be issued at the holder's request, subject to the payment of an administrative fee of 100 euros.

As this procedure is new, the Collectivité has decided to give a period before destruction until December 31, 2021, to all driving license holders who have not yet recovered their title.

For any clarification, the Driving License Department - Service des Titres - receives the public from Monday to Thursday from 08:15 am to 13:00 pm. No public reception on Friday for driving licenses.

The availability of permits can be verified on the website of the community:
