On New Year's Eve, a father under the influence of alcohol, used a firearm and fired inside his home, located in Quartier d'Orléans. Panicked, his family managed to take refuge in a room, out of reach of the mad gunman.
The individual went in stride to his balcony and again fired several bullets towards the roadway. Fortunately, no one was affected. Only vehicles parked on the street received bullet impacts, causing property damage.
Alerted immediately, the gendarmes went on the spot and proceeded to arrest the individual who did not put up any resistance to the police.
First placed in police custody, the man was then presented to the liberty judge. The latter ordered his pre-trial detention in the premises of the Border Police (article 937 of the Code of Criminal Procedure).
He will be tried today, in immediate appearance, before the Criminal Court of Saint-Martin._AF
