Protection of sea turtles: the Nature Reserve is looking for volunteers for the laying season

0

Between March and October, sea turtles (green, leatherback, hawksbill, loggerhead and olive) lay their eggs at night on the beaches of Saint-Martin and the surrounding islands. The Reserve has been monitoring egg laying since 2009 with the help of eco-volunteers, responsible for picking up the traces left by turtles in the sand when they come to lay their eggs on the beaches. The first meeting of eco-volunteers 2017 was held on Friday February 24 at 18 p.m. in the dining room of Le Calypso restaurant in Anse Marcel. The objective was to exchange views on the theme of sea turtles, to present the results of the 30 campaign and to plan the next one.
