Finance bill for 2018: The economic dynamic sacrificed on the altar of budgetary closure?

At a time when the French economy is showing signs of a rebound, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of France regret that budgetary arbitrations are slowing down this dynamic.

By forecasting a sudden drop of € 150 million in the tax resource allocated to them, the Government is preventing the CCI network from fully contributing to the transformation of the French economy, even though it is one of the most efficient for that. This first arbitration under the 2018 finance bill is a shock for all the CCIs who shared the economic priorities displayed by the executive. To the shock is added the incomprehension of a decision that Pierre Goguet, president of CCI France considers incoherent. "As soon as it was set up, the Government told us that it was counting on us to develop learning and training, support companies in their digitalization, accompany them in export, revitalize downtown commerce, and more generally make life easier for entrepreneurs. " In all these areas, the CCIs demonstrate their commitment and their effectiveness. After a decrease in their fiscal resources of 35% over the past 5 years, this new planer blow will have a negative impact on the support of VSEs / SMEs, on investment in the territories (already halved in the last two years) but also on the quality of local service, particularly in rural areas. “We are aware that restoring public accounts is everyone's business. We nevertheless hope that the Government will be able to adjust the contribution of the CCIs to be up to the ambitions it has for the economy and businesses ”concludes Pierre Goguet.
