Air Antilles Training Center Project: No Interreg funds for the flight simulator!

0

Contrary to what Eric Koury of Air Antilles announced, no European interreg funds have been granted to the project yet.

Last week Eric Koury, main shareholder of the Cairo group which owns the company Air Antilles, came to Saint-Martin to present a project he intends to carry out on the island, the establishment of a training center for the air. The project consists precisely in the installation of an ATR-72-600 flight simulator through which the pilots of Air Antilles and regional airlines (Liat, Winair among others) would complete the training hours required by law each year instead of going to other centers further. The closest are Miami and Bogota. The investment amount is 15 million euros.

Eric Koury said that a feasibility study had been carried out and had revealed the interest of the project. He specified that this study had been financed by European funds Interreg Caribbean. However, it was not. Interreg funds have been requested and obtained by Air Antilles to finance another project, Pair aimed at facilitating cooperation between air transport operators in the Caribbean (Source www.soualigapost)
