Next meeting between the Collective and the Prefect scheduled for October 21

As agreed in mid-September, the group studied the proposals made by the prefect and the president of the COM in the protocol to in turn suggest “counter-proposals”. This is how a new meeting was scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in the prefecture.

While Serge Gouteyron expected to raise several subjects, the group wanted to focus on only one point, that of compulsory vaccination for hospital staff and the consequences. Some of the employees of the Saint-Martin hospital and the collective camp on their position and want the measures against staff who refuse to be vaccinated, not to be applied.

On Wednesday, the prefect repeated that this decision did not belong to him. "I am not the supervisor of the hospital, it is the regional health agency and I have no jurisdiction over the ARS," he explained. However, he proposed to contact the ARS and the management of the establishment in order to suspend possible sanctions for a few days while scheduling a new meeting between the parties. On Wednesday, the prefect suggested a new meeting dedicated to this subject on October 18 and to meet the collective to discuss other subjects on October 21. He also demanded the lifting of the picket line at the entrance to the hospital.

Thursday, the prefect suffered refusals from the ARS to temporarily suspend the measures, these being a legal provision that the ARS must follow, she explained to him, but also from the collective to be meet on the 18th. The next meeting is therefore scheduled for Thursday, October 21st. (Soualigapost.com)
