The Collectivity will host the Court of Auditors on Monday, October 11, as part of the preparation of a thematic report on post-Irma crisis management.
Under the chairmanship of Gérard Terrien, the joint formation associating the Court of Auditors and the territorial chambers of accounts of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, will carry out from October 10 to 17, 2020 a thematic mission on crisis management and the reconstruction of Saint -Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, after the passage of hurricane Irma, in September 2017.
In the same way as the COM of St Barth and the State services, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin will therefore receive a delegation from the Court of Auditors, next week, responsible for hearing the administrative executives and elected officials on the relationship partnership between institutions and the implementation of public crisis policies after the passage of Hurricane Irma.
The immediate management of the crisis, the reconstruction of the territory, the effectiveness of the aid announced and the follow-up of the decisions taken by the Interministerial Committee for Reconstruction, public procurement, the action of the departments directly involved in crisis management and that of satellites (EEASM, Port, Airport, Semsamar), the role of AFD as well as compliance with the provisions of the State / COM Protocols of 6 and 21 November 2017, are all topics that will be addressed during this mission. A fundamental step aimed at clarifying the means which the State and the Collectivity were able to acquire to face this major natural disaster.
With all of its directors and departments, the Collectivité of Saint-Martin is at the entire disposal of the Court of Auditors in order to transmit all the resources and documents useful to the members of the mission to carry out this report, which will focus on on the crisis management by the State and by the COM of cyclone Irma and its consequences.
