Politics: The functions of Overseas Minister exercised by the Prime Minister


Yaël Braun-Pivet is no longer overseas minister. Her duties were terminated because she is the majority candidate for the post of President of the National Assembly.

Pending the appointment of whoever will succeed him, the functions of Minister for Overseas France are exercised by decree of June 25, by Elisabeth Borne, the Prime Minister.

Yaël Braun-Pivet was appointed Minister of Overseas on May 20. A week later she went to Guadeloupe and attended the commemoration ceremony for the abolition of slavery. By videoconference, she had spoken with the president of the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, Louis Mussington.
