“Innovative” and “unique”. Two adjectives on which the regional director and the territorial director of Pôle Emploi insisted on qualifying the partnership or "Public-Private alliance" that the authority has just signed with Dauphin Telecom, Computech and the SXM Alumini association.

In order to better support around a hundred young people looking for a job or training, Pôle Emploi will offer them a tablet as well as an internet connection so that they can work from home.

"When young people leave the agency and return home, some do not have the necessary tools to move forward in the process and there is a break in the support", noted Olivier Pelvoizin, the regional director. “I was able to observe in Quartier d'Orléans in particular that homes and sectors were not equipped with new technologies, this is what we call digital deserts. However, the right to digital technology is a fundamental right today, just like the right to electricity, ”comments Jean Arnell, co-manager of Computech who, requested by Pôle Emploi, agreed to donate fifteen tablets. These will be loaned to young people monitored by Pôle Emploi. They will be able to take them home to attend conferences, learn about trades, use tools in the “Employment store” of the Pôle Emploi site, carry out actions between two meetings with an advisor, etc.

"But as a tablet without internet is useless", Dauphin Telecom also been asked to offer internet packages. "We must reach out to young people and ensure that there is the same level of opportunity," says Eve Riboud, the general manager of the local operator.

Last partner, the association of former students of Saint-Martin, SXM Alumni. “We have identified 400 young people from the island living in fifteen countries and in particular carry out portraits and reports of them. We have created a real network ”, say the members. "The goal is that those who have left the island tell their story, that the young Saint-Martinois that we accompany can watch these reports on the shelves, that it makes them want to continue, to project themselves in these courses", designs Olivier Pelvoizin. The members of the association will also sponsor young people in training at Pôle Emploi. (soualigapost.com)
