These are encouraging figures for tourism: 2.253.284 passengers were registered in 2016 at Pôle Caraïbes airport in Pointe-à-Pitre. This is a record, the platform manager announced in the press, with traffic up 7,8%. Regional traffic contributed to this success since it represents 48% of 2016 growth. For the past four years, the threshold of two million passengers has been exceeded at the airport. We also learn that the conquest of the North American market is on the right track with 105.540 passengers among others thanks to the partnership with Norwegian Airlines. Note that New York is directly ranked 9th in the top 10 of destinations departing from Pointe-à-Pitre, with 23.628 passengers last year. _EH
