"A year after Irma, Saint Martin has not been rebuilt," explains Martine Salome, member of the board of directors of the FGPEP and president of the Association Solidarité Guadeloupéenne en Mouvement. This is why the PEPs wanted to mobilize and allow 24 children from Sandy Ground to "get away from their daily lives and participate in an educational stay of the discovery class type".
"Six classes of CM1 and CM2 were chosen with deserving children" not necessarily because they have good results but they play the game. And then, we took children who do not travel but it is necessary that they have papers, ”explains Martine Salome.
Children accompanied by four teachers will leave from 12 to 24 March for skiing in Isère. They will also visit Paris.
To finance this project, the PEPs call on everyone's generosity. They opened an online kitty on the HelloAsso platform.
