Hunting opening on July 28

The general opening period of the shooting hunt is fixed from Sunday July 28, 209 to January 5, 2020 in Saint-Martin. However, depending on the species, the dates differ earlier. For example, for the square-tailed turtledove, it is only authorized until August 25 for the bantering mockingbird or the white-crowned pigeon, it will open on November 1.

Hunting is only authorized on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and non-working days but for certain species, it is also authorized on Tuesdays.

The species that can be hunted in Saint-Martin are: square and Turkish tailed doves, waterfowl, grivotte and soursop mockingbirds, red-necked and white-crowned pigeons, crescent doves. The hunting of the solitary knight is prohibited in the French part.

In addition, quotas have been defined following the passage of Hurricane Irma for certain species as well as management plans.
