New ACS ZEPIN cultural hike: "Dovecote in the footsteps of ancestors"

On Sunday February 27, the ACS ZEPIN (Association Culturelle et Sportive Zone d'Education Prioritaire des Iles du Nord) organized its guided cultural hike on the heights of Colombier.

After a first edition organized more than a year ago (Sunday February 23, 2021), the 2022 edition offered two routes of walking difficulty to participants, for the same story told from the border at the " Dutch Wall”.

Throughout the various stops planned during the route, hikers were able to discover the history of the hamlet of Colombier, after the era of slavery until the 1960s, as well as that of the delimitation between the French and Dutch parts. .

At the return point, participants were able to savor appetizing journey cakes with vegetable pancakes traditionally grown in the region and a cleverly prepared bush tea to alleviate aches.

The President of ACS ZEPIN, Xavier Mirre-Minori would like to thank Vernicia, from the Nature Valley Colombier association, for the dedicated reception area, and René-Jean for his intervention on the delimitation. The event ended with a quiz and pretty plants donated by the association, which works to promote culture and well-being, and which is also sensitive to the environment and its protection.

Open to all audiences, the ACS ZEPIN continues its activities by offering, this Saturday, March 19, its second edition entitled “Cap sur Tintamarre”, which consists of a guided cultural tour of this islet rich in history.
