New hospital governance: ARS objectives

1

The regional health agency (ARS) of Guadeloupe has placed the Saint-Martin hospital center under provisional administration. The objective is “to start off on the right foot” with new governance in six months.

The main ways to improve the operation of the hospital and its financial situation are to increase the recovery rate and optimize the organization. “It should not be believed that the unpaid invoices are only due to the foreigners who come to be treated free of charge. There are also French people who present themselves without Social Security papers, which makes recovery difficult, ”underlines the director of ARS, Valérie Denux.

As for the lack of doctors in Saint-Martin, Valérie Denux delays. “There is also a shortage of doctors in mainland France and in Guadeloupe. But the problem we meet here in Saint Martin is a lack of permanent doctors, ”she adds. The turnover is such that it has consequences for the “organization” of the establishment.

The ambition of the mission is therefore to develop innovative projects to make the Louis-Constant Fleming hospital more attractive to doctors.

Perhaps it would be necessary, as it is in Metropolis, that the ARS and the civil servants which direct, are really concerned by the well-being of the patients, and not by the internal quarrels of investments in material, promotions in the part of the public service, and blind intervention, as well as linguistic and / or racist quarrels, which characterize the entire Carribean Zone
