They have just received their boat license and do not hide their pride in being able to brandish the document. Registered in nautical maintenance at the professional high school in Marigot, they are part of the second class to benefit from this training set up as part of a partnership between the rectorat, the Collectivity and the Aquactic'ô school.

The ambition is to allow young people in the nautical sector to have their boat license. "You are going to work on boats, so it seems imperative that you must be licensed and able to drive them," said rector Mostafa Fourar. For four years, all first graders in the nautical sector therefore follow a 140-hour training course, which represents 2 hours of work per week in addition to the classic lessons.

During the licensing ceremony which took place on Friday in high school, the instructor never ceased to underline the involvement of the young people, their will and their desire to succeed despite certain difficulties.

"This license is important ... This is how self-confidence is built. The accumulation of successes creates a virtuous circle… This permit is only the beginning of future other successes, ”commented the rector.

This year, they are nine to have obtained the permit, last year there were four. (soualigapost.com)
