After being forced to suspend the rehabilitation of the Sandy-Ground bridge, during confinement, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin is now able to take over this site, the public service provider having organized for the takeover work according to the following schedule:

First phase of works:

The work to bring the bridge back into service started last Monday and will end on Sunday June 14, 2020. Also, the first lifting of the bridge is planned as of Monday June 15, 2020 according to the following methods:

- From Monday to Saturday included: 2 collections per day at 9:00 a.m. and at 17:00 p.m.

- Sunday and public holidays: 1 lift per day at 9:00 am.

However, the road and maritime signaling devices (lights, barriers, etc.) will not be operational until the end of June 2020.

Territorial police officers will be mobilized on the site to ensure the safety of road users. The Collectivity of Saint-Martin invites road users to exercise the utmost vigilance during this period of work.

Second phase of works:

The second phase of work, which consists of replacing the bridge deck, was initially scheduled to take place in July. Given the delays caused by the COVID crisis19, the Collectivity was forced to postpone this operation to a later date depending on the availability of the company in charge of this site. The date of this work will be communicated as soon as possible.

As a reminder, the community of Saint-Martin has invested € 1.6M in the complete rehabilitation of the Sandy-Ground Bridge at the service of its users.
