2rd edition of the Green Cay Splash
More than a hundred swimmers participated last Sunday in the 2nd edition of the Green Cay Splash organized on the beach of Orient Bay.
This large gathering of swimming in open water, organized by the Club SXM TRI ACADEMIE, has kept all its promises. Several island clubs had also responded to the invitation (Tous à l'Ô, Carib Swim Team, Dream of Trail).
Two events were organized at the start of Wind Adventures: the 500 m format, an ideal race to discover sea swimming and the 1600 m format, the flagship event which brought together the best swimmers, as well as all those who wanted to take up an exceptional challenge. .
At 7:30 am, the start is given and the swimmers set off in a well-formed sea for a Green Cay return trip, that is 1600 m of combat and pleasure. After 23 minutes of the race, while the best swimmers are about to set foot on the beach to cross the finish line, others are barely halfway. Impressive!
But whatever, the most important thing for most swimmers was to take up the challenge, have fun and have a great time of sport.
To recover from this effort, a rich breakfast awaited the swimmers.
