MUSIC: MoAnanda duo release single paying tribute to women

“Woman at Work” is “the story of a woman who is her own head of the family who is independent, strong and resourceful. She is as much a business manager as a housekeeper as an artist. Dressed in a suit or a mini skirt. No matter the job, we know she's doing it, ”says singer Moana. It is also the new single from her musical duo MoAnanda through which she wants to pay tribute to women in this month of March.

The duo wanted to go further in the tribute to "those who prove on a daily basis that they are not the weaker sex". "When we made this song and decided to release it for Women's History Month, it was obvious to me that the women I wanted to put forward would be those from my native island", confides Moana. The duo therefore joined forces with the Saint-Martin SXM Alumni alumni association.

“We chose SXM Alumni because they always put the people of the island first, and their values therefore corresponded to what we were trying to put in place for this project,” explains Moana. This project is a series of video portraits of powerful women from Saint-Martin which will be published from March 22.

“In parallel, we prepared a video clip with FreeVerse, a production company in Los Angeles made entirely of women, including Salomé Costa, who also grew up in Saint Martin. We are also fortunate to have worked with street artist Lily Hinckfoot, popular for her work with WallArtStMartin, who created the cover for the song, ”adds Moana. (soualigapost.com)
