MICRO-TROTTOIR: "Your opinion on the demonstrations and blockages that have occurred recently"

0

“There is a general fed up that we express but our voice is neither heard nor listened to. But I also think that we should not mix everything up. I demonstrated against the health pass, but I doubt that it will be taken into account in the end. I am not vaccinated but I am not anti-vaccine so far, I was until I spoke with an epidemiologist who explained to me that we do not inject the virus but a messenger RNA, I invite everyone to learn about the process. For the rest, whether it concerns PPRN or something else that has nothing to do with the sanitary conditions we are currently experiencing, things should be taken apart. " Lydia

“I was present during the very first demonstration against the sanitary pass and compulsory vaccination even if I think more and more that it should be done by it. I understand the desire of some to keep this right to choose not to be vaccinated but I am tired or even exasperated to see the high level of misinformation circulating about vaccines or the virus itself. It is everyone's duty to assume their responsibilities as citizens for the good of all. The freedom to demonstrate is enshrined in the Declaration of Human Rights but when it turns into hostage-taking of other inhabitants by blocking roads, it loses all of its grandeur. It is sad to always have to arrive there for the politicians to agree to open a dialogue. " Baptiste

“What we've been through this week clearly demonstrates the state of tension that rules in Saint Martin. People are at their wit's end, and they're mixing everything up. I am one of the few in my family to be vaccinated and I am tried every day for it. But I am proud to have made this choice, why question this vaccine when it is not done with that of tetanus, pertussis or measles? There is no question here of endangering the so-called fundamental freedom of each person if you are forced to be vaccinated but of endangering other citizens if you do not do so. " Augustin

“To be completely honest with you, it left me speechless about these blockages. I did not understand and I still do not understand. Whether or not we agree with the vaccination, whether or not we speak about the health pass, very well. But blocking the roads in the middle of the day without warning or any form of civility, that drives me crazy. We are all in the same boat, all without exception. Black, white, mixed race, any color or origin, metro  local, all! And all that to get a meeting with the politicians and leave the meeting room after 30 seconds? The right to express oneself must go both ways. " Emilie
