The hurricane season is experiencing a resurgence of activity at the beginning of August. Two tropical waves are currently under the surveillance of meteorologists from the National Hurricane Center. They could interest the West Indies next week.

Many uncertainties still hang over the evolution of two tropical waves, observed with a magnifying glass for 48 hours by specialists from the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The first is preparing to leave the African coast and generates thunderstorms and showers over a large area. Tropical wave  is expected to leave the West African coast later today. "Environmental conditions appear somewhat conducive to development, and a tropical depression could form by the end of the week or early next week as the system moves west to west-north. -West at about 25 km / h ”informs the NHC. Meteorologists estimate a 60% chance that the system will strengthen over the next five days.

The second, closer, will concern the West Indies at the beginning of next week but the probabilities that the tropical wave will develop into a cyclonic system are low, of the order of 20% within five days, informs the NHC.

The populations affected by the cyclonic risk are invited to follow the evolution of these phenomena.
