On Monday, February 3, the prefect of the Northern Islands, Sylvie Feucher went aboard the Overseas Support and Assistance Building (BSAOM), Le Dumont d'Urville.
This visit takes place as part of the first mission of the ship delivered in 2019.
The construction of the latter follows a decision of the State after the passage of Hurricane Irma, to consolidate the missions of support to the populations and border surveillance.
The Dumont d'Urville made a stopover in Saint-Martin until last Tuesday.
During this day, Captain de Corvette Mathhieu GRAFF met with representatives of the State services (Police Aux Frontières, Gendarmerie Nationale, Douanes) in the presence of Mme la Préfète and the President of the community.
On this occasion, the medal of the prefecture of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin was presented to him.
