The animations will not miss these next days on the island! The “Fish Day” in Cul-de-Sac and the Sint Maarten carnival are the two key events not to be missed.

On the theme "From the sea to the pot", the 13th edition of the "Fish Day" will take place Sunday on the pier site at Cul-de-Sac, from 10h to 22h. As every year, stands of local specialties based on fish will be offered to the population, all in a friendly atmosphere. Community president Aline Hanson will deliver a speech at 9:30 am in tribute to the fishermen. Around 10.000 people are expected by the organizers for this new edition. The COM informs you that parking along the Cul-de-Sac road will be prohibited until the end of the event. In addition, the president and Georges Gréaux Jr, director of the company Caribbean Liquors and Tobacco, signed yesterday at the COM a financial partnership agreement concerning the "Fish Day", renewed each year since 2009.
Carnival: another five days of festivities
In the streets of Sint Maarten, it's the excitement since the Jump-up that took place earlier this week. Today, at 10 am, the most beautiful costumes will parade during the big parade where the children will also show their pretty costumes. Tomorrow at noon it will be the Labor Day parade. On Saturday, the organizers have planned an international reggae concert, and on Sunday, it's time for the traditional "Splash Family Day" (Village Cook Up). The closing of the 2015 “Burning of King Momo” carnival will take place on Monday. For more information on the various events, see the sxmcarnival Facebook page.
