In order to stem the spread of the highly infectious coronavirus, the state of emergency will be extended for an additional week from May 10 to 17 in Sint-Maarten, Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs announced on Friday.

The additional one-week extension will take effect on May 10 and will continue until Sunday, May 17.

“Even though the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) has noted a drop in the number of admissions, we must not relax our collective effort,” warns Silveria Jacobs. We still need time to know if the curve will reverse ”.
