Benjamin Ortega, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Sint Maarten, and Angèle Dormoy, president of the Consular Chamber of Saint-Martin, met for a virtual conference yesterday morning.
Their objective was to report on the impact of the health crisis and the closing of borders on the economic fabric of the island. The presidents explained that concrete proposals have been made to authorities on both sides of the island. In particular, the Chambers have created two stickers, in French and in English, that companies can display on their storefronts to explain the essential barrier gestures to be observed. Traders will be invited to pick them up at the CCI during opening hours.
