The nine desired changes to the land use plan

The land use plan (POS) of Saint-Martin was defined in 2002 and was the subject of only “minor adaptations”; adaptations "insufficient to meet the needs in terms of urbanization and economic development of the territory" according to the new majority. So she decided to make changes.

On the one hand, it is “responding to the urgency of reconstruction taking into account the consequences of Irma in certain neighborhoods”, on the other hand, “responding more broadly to the needs of the territory in terms of housing and economic development, "says President Daniel Gibbs.

Nine modifications were proposed to the executive council meeting on October 6, which thus gave a favorable opinion to the launch of a procedure for modifying the POS, among which is to change future urbanization areas, increase the right to build in certain areas or modify the right to build in vulnerable areas.
