COM and CTOS strikers refuse to negotiate with Annick Petrus

Negotiations between the union representatives (UTC-UGTG) of the striking agents of the COM and the CTOS with the elected representatives of the Community and the management of the CTOS still failed despite the appointment of a mediator by the administrative court.

However, and although the strikers again blocked public access to the COM hotel on Monday March 11, the two sides foresaw a possible resolution of this crisis which has been going on since January 30.

A meeting was indeed scheduled at the COM Tuesday March 12 at 14 p.m. following the response of the Collectivity to the protocol for the end of the conflict drawn up by the union a few days earlier.

"This protocol responds favorably to almost all of the claims raised, except the point of claim No. 1 to which the community and the CTOS cannot respond favorably for budgetary reasons, which has been explained several times," COM said.

This meeting was finally aborted, the strikers refused the presence around the negotiating table of the third vice-president of the COM Annick Petrus. Daniel Gibbs recalled the same evening, in a filmed intervention, the place of the latter, elected from the Republic "which has all its legitimacy to sit at the negotiating table" and castigated the disrespectful attitude of the union representative.

The president calls the union to reconsider his position and affirms to remain open to the resumption of the discussions with all its elected representatives at the table to discuss the points of the protocol of exit of conflict and to note the end of this strike.

For their part, the representatives of the UTC-UGTG union claim to be always "in a spirit of negotiation". "We await responses to all of our eighteen demands as since our filing of strike notice," said Nicole Javois, secretary of the UTC-UGTG in Saint-Martin.
