The armed forces in the Antilles in support of Honduras and Guatemala after the murderous passage of hurricanes Eta and Iota!

The overseas support and assistance building (BSAOM) Dumont d'Urville set sail last week from the port of Point-à-Pitre to transport 180 m3 humanitarian freight to these two Central American countries.

This logistical support provided by the armed forces in the West Indies (FAA) intervenes at the request of the crisis and support center of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

In cooperation with the regional intervention platform in the Americas and the Caribbean (PIRAC) of the French Red Cross, there are six containers and 35 pallets (containing tents, blankets, groundsheets, kitchen kits, tarpaulins, jerry cans of water, etc.) or 35 tons which are in transit.

The vessel will unload this cargo successively in the ports of Puerto Cortés and Puerto Barrios while respecting strict sanitary measures: no contact between the crew and the teams on the quay, systematic disinfection of containers and pallets before boarding and unloading .
