The primitive budget of the community for the year 2019 amounts to 165,81 million euros in the investment section and 190,43 million in the operating section.
The operating section stands at 190,438 million euros, 147 million without taking into account the transfer to the investment section. This represents an increase of 4,1% compared to 2018, a third compared to 2017 and 39% compared to 2016. Without considering the carry forward of the negative execution balance (25,66 M €), the capital expenditure has been established at 140,15 million euros this year. Against € 40,1 million in 2016. This very strong increase compared to previous years is explained by the registration of an equipment program amounting to € 86,88 million. This program had already been included in the 2018 budget but to a lesser extent (56,95 million).
In addition, a 2018 remaining balance of 23 million was added to the € 86,88 million planned, bringing the equipment program to 109,97 million euros this year. The latter corresponds to reconstruction sites (rehabilitation of public lighting for video surveillance, school buildings, construction of college 900, renovation of school canteens, etc.) but also fiber optic work in schools, restoration and development of Fort Louis, acquisition of a weather radar, etc.
The 2019 budget was voted by majority, the elected representatives of the opposition abstained.
