In 2020, in the intense context of the health crisis, the Manteau de Saint-Martin association developed an innovative mobile solidarity grocery project. The aim was to provide a local response to the growing number of worrying social situations.
During confinement, the large number of food packages distributed by the Collectivity and associations came to support the need in terms of food.
As part of the city policy led by the Collectivity, the State and the partners, the association was subsidized for the acquisition of a truck brought up to standard with the assistance of the Compagnons Bâtisseurs for the development, as part of an integration project.
The truck will make it possible to move around neighborhoods and more particularly in priority neighborhoods to sell basic necessities at the most suitable prices possible to people in precarious situations.
"It is a long-awaited partnership action that is emerging and I particularly congratulate all the people who have invested in initiating it and bringing it to fruition", underlines the president, Daniel Gibbs.
