LEGISLATIVE: The Republicans have invested Claire Guion-Firmin

“I announce it to you with pride and humility, I am a candidate for my re-election”, declared Claire Guion-Firmin in front of forty relatives on Wednesday evening. The outgoing MP wants to run for a second and “last” term.

Invested by the Republicans,  Claire Guion-Firmin, who chose Silviane Judith as a substitute, was clear: “I am not Macron compatible. To vote for me is to vote against Macron and his projects which divide the nation”. She also insisted that the legislative elections “should not confirm the territorial elections” of last March. "They shouldn't be a revenge either," she conceives.

“The deputy represents the nation and intervenes in the legislative process and controls the action of the government”, she recalled. "He is also the active spokesperson for his constituency", so the outgoing deputy considers it important for Saint-Martin to elect a deputy affiliated with a national political party. “If the deputy is not invested with a political family, he will be in the group of non-registered people and will have no speaking time and no visibility”, she warned.

By running again, the MP wishes to pursue her political projects, in particular to vote and adopt her bill tabled in December and relating to equal opportunities for students in the community of Saint-Martin.
