Soualiga Park, future green space on the Marigot Seafront

0

For the redevelopment of the Marigot Seafront, the Collectivity has selected the APS agency, representative of the group formed by APS, the eurl Marc Jalet, Integerop consulting and engineering, Guez Caraïbes sarl, Antony Maragnes, H3c-Caraibes and Biotope Caraïbes, some companies being based in the French West Indies.

APS is  an agency of landscape designers specializing in landscape, urban planning and architecture of public space and based in Valence in the South of France. Last week, she was in Saint-Martin for a “floral reconnaissance” and to visit nurseries with a view to the creation of the “Soualiga park”.

A "natural, urban and ecological coastal" park, the Soualiga park will extend over the entire Sea Front and will include several green spaces: the Arawaks park square (where the ferry terminal car park is now), the Botanical route of Fort Louis (discovery trail of endemic flora which will start from where there was the restaurant L'Oiseau Rare and will go up to the fort), the cornice of Galisbay (from the marina to the car park), the nature park (in front of the cemetery), the quay park (along the sea in the extension of the nature park towards the current lolos) and the mall of the Collectivity (transversal axis going from the Front du Mer towards the COM hotel).

The companies retained in the consortium have also imagined a bowl, a beach, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, restaurants, lolos, shops, a market, halls all along the Sea Front. _SoualigaPost.com
