Launch of interprofessional meetings on psycho trauma

"After Irma we followed 1300 families and today we are still supporting children, young adults and seniors who are still in this traumatic state" says Marie-Paule Rousseau, director of the Center symphorien d insertion in Quartier d'Orléans .

Like her, around 70 people, including players from the voluntary sector but also health professionals (psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, etc.), participate in interprofessional meetings on psychotrauma which take place this week at the Mercure hotel.

Funded by the Fondation de France and organized by Emmanuelle Lépine, clinical psychologist specializing in post-traumatic stress, these interprofessional meetings began yesterday, Monday, December 10.

During the first morning, Michel Sanz, IA-DAASEN of the Northern Islands, Jean-Marie Thévenet, director of the Trait d'Union association, Francisco Moreno, director of the hospital, and Corinne Helary-Planchon, deputy director general of the Solidarity & Families Pole of the COM, shared their experience before, during and after Irma. President Daniel Gibbs also introduced this week of training with a speech focused on the social aspect of the post-Irma crisis.

"It was important to start with observations and we had identified people who had been in a decision-making and action situation, and who embodied the institutions" explains Mélanie Hubault, Head of Individualized Funds and Health Promotion Programs at the Fondation de France. These exchanges allowed a better mutual understanding. "What stands out is that everyone did as they could, even if each was judged by the others" sums up Mélanie Hubault. The objective is to bring together all the actors to get out of this year of amazement and get back into motion otherwise.

During the afternoon, the participants spoke of both their personal and professional experiences. A discussion punctuated by the interventions of Emmanuelle Lépine, as well as three of the psychiatrists who accompany her: Pauline Lefebvre, child psychiatrist, Frédéric Mauriac, family therapist and supervisor of family therapists and Nicolas Pastour, trainer in systemic family therapy and practice of the psychiatry network . The main problem in the treatment of post-Irma psychotrauma is that the professionals in the area were themselves affected. The idea is to give them tools and allow them to build a network together.
