The official opening of Disability Week will take place on Sunday morning in Galisbay under the slogan “Giving a course to my handicap”. The associations Coralita-Sessad, Tournesol and their partners invite the population to participate in the various activities until March 13.
“There are all types of disabilities. Many people are ashamed of the looks of others. We invite everyone to come to this walk, ”says Bernice Brooks, President of Tournesol. Participants are expected at 7:30 am in the Galisbay car park for a walk (10 euros / dollars) of about two hours. The official inauguration of this Handicap Week will take place on Monday at the media library. From 17 pm, “productions produced by children and young adults with disabilities will be presented during a private viewing. This will be an opportunity to highlight their potential. Many of them have talent ”, specifies Didier Witczak of Tournesol. Throughout the week, interventions will take place in schools, adds Sessad Director Fernando Semedo: “These actions will allow a different perspective on disability. The children will be able to talk to each other. ” Tuesday evening, the film “I was born at 30” will be screened at the media library at 16 pm. The film will be followed by a debate.
