The alert phase 1 "probable eruption" was triggered yesterday by the prefecture of Reunion, after the dissemination of information relating to the activity of the volcano by the volcanological observatory of Piton de la Fournaise. "Public access to the upper part of the Piton de la Fournaise enclosure is prohibited until further notice, whether from the Pas de Bellecombe path or from any other path," specifies the prefecture. The last eruption dates back to May 17.
