Half of the primates threatened with extinction

In Singapore, international experts announced this week that more than half of the primates in the world are on the verge of extinction, in particular because of the destruction of their habitat. Among the most threatened are the Colombian brown spider monkey and the Sumatran orangutan. The major fires in Indonesia - which have been raging for months - have hardly helped their situation: the great apes are starving and suffering from toxic fumes.
