France has enlarged its maritime domain by nearly 500.000 km2 off its overseas territories, reports the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea (Ifremer) Four decrees, published last Sunday in the Official Journal, entered into force at the beginning of the week specifying the new borders off Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, New Caledonia and the Kerguelen Islands.
