The Member of Parliament for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, Claire Guion-Firmin has been appointed, at her request, to sit on the Special Growth and Business Transformation Commission.

This special committee was set up to examine the bill on the growth and transformation of businesses - known as the “PACTE” law. This project, led by the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, has as its guideline the “simplification” of the daily life of SMEs. The text provides for the smoothing of the effects of thresholds, responsible for the brakes on hiring, the abolition of the social package for small and medium-sized enterprises, a relaxation of accounting obligations, new supervision of foreign investments, among other measures.

The Member will therefore have the opportunity to explain the daily difficulties and the needs of businesses in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy as well as to make any proposals that can help the socio-economic actors so badly affected by the disaster of September 2017.

The rapporteur's hearings will start in early July, the examination of the text in committee will take place in early September and in public session in late September. _AF
