The Methodist Church in downtown Marigot was heavily damaged by Hurricane Irma and has yet to be rehabilitated. The cost of the work is estimated by an architect at 1,33 million euros.

Considering that "the repairs are of a certain local public interest character given that the chapel is part of the historical and cultural heritage of the territory", the community decided to grant the association Eglise Méthodiste Antilles Guyane a subsidy in the amount of of 500 euros to finance the work.

This aid will enable the removal of the remains of the old roof and reconstruction of the roof and the bell tower, the repair of all the frames (entrance doors, other doors and windows) as well as electrical work, air conditioning and plumbing.

The COM specified that the association must carry out the identical reconstruction of the Ebenezer chapel, part of the historical heritage of the territory and that the subsidy "will be exclusively allocated to repair work on the main building, excluding the parish hall" . The other work necessary for the complete repair of the project will be financed by the Association.
