"A grapefruit eaten by one, claimed by the other", this is how the deputy prosecutor summed up a case of violence examined by the local court of Saint-Martin last week.
On May 5, GT - the victim - returned home, precisely to the home he shared with his partner at Agrément. He wishes to eat the grapefruit which is in the refrigerator and realizes that HM, a man, which he lodges has eaten it. An argument then broke out between the two men, GT being furious that HM had eaten the fruit without leaving him a piece.
HM grabs a pair of scissors and hurts GT. “As he pressed his stomach, the scissors came in by themselves!”, explains HM to the court. "It still perforated his liver! ”, comments the judge.
At the helm, HM apologizes and confides that he does not want to go to prison. According to several witnesses, HM and GT often quarrel.
Regarding the examination of the case of May 5, the vice-prosecutor recalled that HM had already made a call to the law for similar facts in 2017. He requested a suspended sentence of 12 months in prison, a ban on carrying a weapon for 5 years and staying in the victim's neighborhood.
