This is why a father of a family residing in Saint-Martin appeared before this court in Basse Terre at the end of June. He was accused of having repeatedly raped his daughter when she was 13 years old.
In front of the members of the court, the man confided that he had himself been raped during his childhood and that thus he reproduced the family pattern in which he had evolved. An expert psychiatrist present at the trial explained that this father was perfectly aware of his behavior, that he was able to tell the difference between good and bad.
